Today's Music 2 -

I've been really enjoying a few songs from Mili's To Kill a Living Book -For Library of Ruina- album. I'll put two of them down in here.

Poems of a Machine #

The first one is Poems of a Machine. There's a lot that I like about this. First, I love the drum rhythm right when the lyrics come in. I love the droning styring synth that is used. I think the lyrics are cool. I don't totally understand all of them, but they are still interesting to think about.

I'm not going to pshycoanalyze the lyrics here because I tend to read into things too literally. I never was much of an English literature enjoyer.

I think her voice in the lower tones sounds really good, specifically during the, "I stopped for death, guess still there's no place for my silicone flesh" part.

String Theocracy #

The next one is String Theocracy. I actually found this one pretty close to when it originally released in 2020. It was recommended to me on YouTube and I clicked on it because of the interesting thumbnail. Originally, it didn't capture my attention that quickly. I added it to my cool music playlist then forgot about it.

Some amount of time later, I got more into jazz. I listened to it again and fell in love with this one. The song itself is amazing. I think this is some great jazz. The saxophone's improvisations are so good. The piano mixing is perfect. The call and response going on during the intro with the lyrics/piano and the bass is PLASMA!!! Then the brushes on the drums to keep it soft before the full big band hits.. very nice.

Once again, I think the lyrics are interesting to listen to. It's not what you really hear in other songs.

My favorite part is when she goes to the lower register during the, "Down, down, and down I go". It just really stands out with the rest of the singing.

10/10 for both of these songs. Go give the whole album a listen if you can!!
